Peppermint Cake

Today i'm going to show you guys how to make easy yet delicious peppermint cake. I already baked this cake three times. The 3rd time i realized i'm out of yogurt in my fridge. So i omitted the yogurt and i used 3/4 cup of milk instead of 1/2 cup. It is still delicious. Hope you guys enjoy it and feel free to leave a comment.

Ingredients

350 gm butter
2 cups of sugar
5 large eggs
1 tsp of strong peppermint essence
few drops of green colouring
3 cups of flour
2 tsp of baking powder
1/4 tsp of salt
1/2 cup of milk
110-120 gm of plain yogurt ( 1 pack of plain yogurt)


Methods

1. Preheat oven to 180 degree Celsius.
2. Beat butter and sugar until pale in colour, fluffy and light.
3. Add in the eggs one by one and beat well. DO NOT over mix.
4. Add in peppermint essence and mix well.
5. Sieve baking powder, salt and flour in another bowl.
6. Mix in the sieved flour mixture ( i divide into two times) alternately adding the milk( also divide into two times). Mix until well combined. DO NOT over mix.
7. Lastly add in yogurt and mix until well combined. DO NOT over mix.
8. I divide the cake mixture into two bowls and dye one with green and leave another plain.
9. Pour in alternately into 26.5 cm square baking tin and use a fork to create the marble effect. Tap the tin on the table few times to avoid having any bubbles.
10. Bake on the preheat oven for 45 minutes or insert a toothpick or cake tester and if it comes out clean then it done.  . ( Different oven has different heat and time)
